iPad Musings

By Daisy

I’m not going to lie; I haven’t touched an iPad. But that doesn’t stop me from having an opinion on it. The iPad looks really cool. But would i use it as an e-book reader? No. Why? Because I have a kindle. Any other reasons? Yes, a few in fact:

  • It’s backlit – which isn’t great for our eyes. When the average person spends around 8 hours a day in front of a computer/tv screen, adding more time with light shining in your eyes isn’t very helpful. I like the e-ink technology of the Kindle. Although, that’s not to say i am a Kindle devotee, if there was a cooler version of an e-ink e-reader in Australia I would be open to it.
  • Does it really compete with the kindle? No. I think it competes with the Macbook Air more than it does with a kindle.
  • One program at a time. I like multitasking. Multitasking likes me. Not so much with the iPad.

I’m sure I’ll come up with more reasons over the next few days and will add.

It is pretty though, isn’t it?
